Annually and since 1969, the American Massage Therapy Association recognizes Chapter Meritorious Award Recipients from every of its 51 Chapters. Recipients of this highest-level, chapter-based award have demonstrated diligent volunteerism done in an altruistic manner during the current award-Year: 2024’s NV Chapter Meritorious Recipient is no exception!
Tom’s Nomination to receive 2024’s NV Chapter Meritorious Award came as no surprise to the AMTA Nevada Chapter Board of Directors that unanimously Approved his Nomination.
Jasminemarie Soller, then-Chapter-Secretary, noticed Tom’s dedication to his volunteerism in her Nomination-form:
“Tom has been an instrumental part of our community events representation for our chapter” and “there have been times where he would be the only one at [community] events representing the chapter.”
“Tom has also stepped up to assist in areas where we needed someone to step up”, specifically when he was Board-Elected as Financial Administrator in early-2023.
“Tom’s “go above and beyond”-attitude is exemplary [of] a true massage therapist and proud to nominate.”
Annually, Tom Dougherty LMT DPT has been the cornerstone of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, Southern Nevada event, held in the Fall in the Las Vegas area.
