The Nevada Chapter’s Education Committee would like to thank this year’s 54 Respondents for giving their opinions, July 15th – 25th, on Which of 2025’s Massage Therapy CE-Topics could be available at our Annual Convention and/or Education Event – and we hear you!

In an effort to bring the most-relevant, -affordable, and -sought-out CE courses to accompany our fabulous Networking Breakfast and Annual Meeting in [traditionally] Southern Nevada and our Reno-events, the Nevada Chapter asked several pointed-Questions, through a Constant Contact Survey, to our membership and LMTs that may potentially attend. The following is what we found:

CE-Topics

We took the Topics directly from the NCBTMB’s Course-Types and populated 20 of the most-interesting and widely-attended Types in Question 1 of our Survey this year. Since we like to keep the Types/Topics interesting, we included some Topics that we’ve hosted in the past, some that the volunteers liked, and some that are traditional and newer Topics to the massage therapy field. In addition to the following ranked Topics several Respondents indicated [via “Other”] they’d also like to attend Osteo Symmetry, Cranial Sacral, Reflexology, Body Mechanics for MTs, Precision Neuromuscular Therapy (Nelson), Lymph Drainage courses, and see Presenters like James Waslaski, Whitney Lowe, and Erik Dalton. The clear-Preferences had the most Votes (at the top of the columns) and are colored in Green:

2025's Massage Therapy CE-Topics Survey: a graph of Survey-results for Question 1: "Of the following massage and/or bodywork modalities/techniques: Which would you attend (LIVE) or want to learn more about, for CE Credit?" of 20 Types, Respondents chose (in this order): 26, Trauma-informed Massage; 25, Positional Release Therapy; 24, Myofascial Techniques; 21, Lymphedema Massage; 20 (tied), Active Isolated Stretching & Trigger Point Therapy. the remaining Types: 19, Sports Massage Techniques; 17 (tied), Geriatric/Hospice Massage and Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation and Oncology Massage and Orthopedic Massage; 15, Ayurvedic Bodywork; 13, Burn-scar Massage; 11, Self-Care for MTs, and the remaining Types scored less than 10 Responses each.

Dates

We also like to survey people to find out which Dates they would be likely to attend – it was a close match between the 2 Monday/Tuesday Times we made available, and we received some additional suggestions: May 19-20, Thursday-Sunday/No Monday or Tuesday, and A Date After CCSD Schools Are Out For The Summer.

2025's Massage Therapy CE-Topics Survey: a graph of Survey-results for Question 2: "Of the two, Monday/Tuesday date-windows below, which would you be able to attend?" of 2 Options, Respondents chose (in this order): 33, May 5 - 6, 2025; 29, May 12 - 13, 2025.

Reno

As hosting a Reno-event has been the modus operandi of the Board for many, many years and since this year’s event had some hitches when some unexpected, serious weather came through Reno during our traditional February (middle of Winter) Reno-event, we thought we’d ask if Fall or Winter was a ‘better’ time for people to attend. Here’s what they said:

2025's Massage Therapy CE-Topics Survey: a graph of Survey-results for Question 3: "Of these two times of year, which is better for you to attend a live-event in Reno, Nevada?" of 2 Options, Respondents chose (in this order): 40, Fall (late-Sep to late-Dec); 14, Winter (late-Dec to late-Mar).

Meals

Our last 2 Questions garnered a split-preference over the Breakfast-Question, but the Lunch-Question had a clear ‘winner’ – the Education Committee will definitely consider our Respondents’ Answers to these Questions, as their suggestions may allow attendees to a) sleep in/skip our Breakfast and/or b) save a bit of money in Registration-Fees, since the chapter could have a smaller event-Cost w/o a meal or two added to The Bill. Check out what we suspected would be the case for both meals:

a graph of Survey-results for Question 4: "When considering Breakfast, which would you prefer most?" of 2 Options, Respondents chose (in this order): 27, I prefer to provide my own breakfast; 26, I prefer to attend an event with a breakfast provided/catered.
a graph of Survey-results for Question 5: "When considering Lunch, which would you prefer most?" of 2 Options, Respondents chose (in this order): 39, I prefer to attend an event with a lunch provided/catered; 14, I prefer to provide my own lunch.

Gratitude

Thank You to all the participating Members and LMTs in the Massage Therapy Community who voiced & shared their opinions about 2025’s Massage Therapy CE-Topics, assisting the Education Committee and the Chapter Board of Directors in making fiscally-responsible decisions .. AND allowing them to develop (like: right now!) a 2025 State Convention and Reno Education Event that will effectively serve the Nevada Chapter Members and all attending-LMTs!
