The American Massage Therapy Association, Nevada Chapter, hosts its 2024 AMTA-NV Annual Convention on May 5, 6, 7, & 8th  in Las Vegas, NV!

Description: This is the best Kinesiology/Myology class room you have ever been in. It is a dissection lab without the formaldehyde stink and cutting dead flesh. This is a look at the muscles of the body and how they actually look in a human body. This display will blow your mind. Be ready to change your view of bodywork.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the depth of layering in the body,
  2. Recognize the application of the circulatory system on the body’s myology,
  3. Engage with neurological reactions and how the body’s myology reacts,
  4. Understand fascial reactions to the tissue and how they change the pliability of the body’s myology.

  • Excitement and a willingness to learn.

Description: Lomilomi Massage instruction includes the learning of historical data, philosophy of Hawaiian healing, chant and pule, breathing and centering techniques, ho’oponopono, full-body massage procedures, and proper body alignment in hands-on application.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Invite discovery of self and self-acceptance,
  2. Understand what Mana (spiritual power) is in the practitioner and how to utilize it in giving a Lomilomi Massage,
  3. Apply introduction-level Hawaiian healing techniques in a manner that it can be applied to present day situations,
  4. Observe and perform authentic Lomilomi techniques for the entire body,
  5. Learn and practice a full body Lomilomi Massage routine,
  6. Practice pule ho’oponopono, the Ha breath, proper biomechanics, and healing chants,
  7. Receive the wisdom, confidence, and inner dance to transform their massage routine into something uniquely beautiful.

What to Bring:

  • Massage Table, Linens, Lubricant of choice, Athleisure-type clothing, extra clothing-layers.

Note: Students will be provided a complete, paper-based manual.

Included Meals:

  • Day 1: Lunch will be served, buffet-style, for 1 hour, from 12pm – 1pm in the Apollo 1 Room.
  • Day 2 & 3: Breakfast & Lunch will be served, buffet-style, for 1 hour, from 7am – 8am & 12pm – 1pm, respectively, in the Apollo 1 Room.


Trager® Introductory Workshop: Essential Trager Principles

Description: Explore the essential principles of Dr. Milton Trager’s Psychophysical Integration and their applications to some of the most common clinical, musculoskeletal pathologies. This system of dynamic mindful movement forms the foundation of the hands-on table work.

Applications of Dr. Trager’s work to address Trauma (PTSD) related conditions, sciatica, low back and neck pain, fibromyalgia and conditions like frozen shoulder, upper cross syndrome (text neck) or anterior scalene syndrome will be discussed and practiced.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Perform self-care exercises to relieve, neck, shoulder, low back and hip pain within your own body and to avoid your own pain and burnout utilizing body mechanics at the table,
  2. Guide Clients through Self-Care movements to care for themselves and to leverage the gains of the sessions,
  3. Describe and apply specific skills (Essential Trager Principles) required to effectively work with the nervous system as it presents in trauma, sciatica, frozen shoulder and other musculoskeletal conditions to facilitate the release of unconscious holding patterns,
  4. Cite research on components of the gamma motor system that may contribute to pain and fatigue associated with Fibromyalgia and other musculoskeletal conditions,
  5. Describe the basic neurophysiology of Trauma,
  6. Describe the components of Non-Violent Communication and how this applies to touch and neuromuscular release,
  7. Describe what weight tells us about muscular tension or holding and how to utilize this to facilitate release of compensatory muscle holding patterns,
  8. Execute the concept of action at a distance through traction and the creation of fluid movements within the body.

What to Bring:

  • Massage Table, Linens, Lubricant of choice, Athleisure-type clothing, extra clothing-layers.

Included MealsLunch  will be served, buffet-style, for 1 hour, from 12pm – 1pm, in the Apollo 1 Room.
