Heath & Nicole Reed LMTs

James Waslaski, CPT, is an Author & International Lecturer who teaches approximately 40 seminars per year around the globe. He’s served as AMTA Sports Massage Chair and FSMTA Professional Relations Chair. He’s developed 8 Orthopedic Massage and Sports Injury DVDs, and authored manuals on Advanced Orthopedic Massage and Client Self -Care. His new book: Clinical Massage Therapy: A Structural Approach to Pain Management, was published by Pearson Education in 2011. James is a Certified Personal Trainer with NASM. He presents at state, national and international massage, chiropractic, and osteopathic conventions, including keynote addresses at the FSMTA, World of Wellness, New England Regional Conference, the World Massage Festival, and Australian National Massage Conventions. His audience includes massage and physical therapists, as well as athletic trainers, chiropractors, osteopaths, nurses and physicians. James received the 1999 FSMTA International Achievement Award, and was inducted into the 2008 Massage Therapy Hall of Fame. James was awarded Massage Therapist of The Year in 2012 at the Canadian Massage Conference. He was also nominated and awarded by his peers and colleagues the designation of Teacher of The Year 2015 at the World Massage Festival.

Thai Yoga Massage on the Table – (12.5 CEHs) – Thai Yoga Massage with Living Metta invites you to master a fusion of ancient and modern practices to breathwork, mobilization, and massage therapy. Weaved throughout this healing art is the intention of metta, the Thai expression for “loving kindness”. Embodying loving kindness is the result of being sure all our techniques “feel good to give and feel good to receive.” Together, we will stretch and expand into positivity, ease, and flow. Join us as we grow our capacity to give and receive loving kindness at the table and in every area of our lives!

Felicia Brown, LMBT, is the owner of Spalutions, a firm which provides business and marketing coaching and consulting for massage, spa and wellness professionals. She is passionate about inspiring others in her field and beyond to become successful in all of their endeavors. This practice of “cooperative competition” has been a cornerstone of Felicia’s career ever since she became a massage therapist in 1994. She continues to apply this way of thinking in her coaching, writing, and teaching. Periodically, she works as an Expert Witness in cases related to the massage and spa industries. Felicia is also the owner of A to Zen Massage, a wellness spa in Greensboro, NC, and a Certified Guerrilla Marketing Coach and NCBTMB/FL/GA Approved Provider. Over her career, Felicia has won numerous awards for her business skills and accomplishments including 2015 Best Massage Therapist of the Triad – Runner Up (Go Triad), 2014 Best Massage Therapist of the Triad (Go Triad), and 2005 Small Business Person of the Year from the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce. As one who loves to educate others, Felicia regularly hosts the Pre-Conference Broadcast Series on One Concept Radio in which she interviews various massage, chiropractic and wellness educators. She is also a past member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Massage Therapy Journal and current member of the Editorial Advisory Board for DAYSPA Magazine.

This class covers the definition, demographics, etiology, signs and symptoms, treatment options, and role of massage for the following: herpes simplex, staph infections (including MRSA), psoriasis, dermatitis/eczema, and skin cancer. Basic Introduction To Manual Lymphatic Drainage (Vodder Technique) for Massage Therapists – (8 CEHs) – This one-day course will introduce attendees to Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and will provide an understanding of the basic anatomy, physiology and functions of the lymphatic system. Participants will be able to discuss the benefits, indications and contraindications of MLD as well as perform one of the basic Vodder techniques to the neck.
